Registration and voting in the 2017 State general election is now open for iVote. iVote allows you to cast your vote in secret and from any location using the internet or a touch tone telephone.
You are eligible to use iVote if you would normally need assistance to vote or visit a polling place. This includes people with insufficient literacy skills, who are blind or vision-impaired or are otherwise incapacitated.
Using iVote is a simple, three-step process:
- Register online or by calling 1300 648 683. You will choose a six-digit PIN number and be given a unique eight-digit iVote number when registering.
- Vote using iVote. After entering your credentials you can select your candidates, confirm your choices and submit your vote using ballot papers displayed on screen or read aloud.
- Verify your vote. You also have the option of checking your vote was recorded properly during the election period and then verifying your vote was included in the count after the election.
- Registration for iVote is open until 6.00 pm Friday 10 March. Voting using iVote closes at 6.00 pm Saturday 11 March, election day.
If you, or someone that you know, normally cannot vote without assistance then consider iVote this election—it will provide a voting process that is accessible, safe and secret.
