Cottesloe By-election - Still time to vote early

Media Release Date
Friday, 9 March, 2018

With a week still to go before Election Day, 1500 electors have already voted in the Cottesloe by-election.

“This reflects a continuation in the popularity of early voting for State elections”, Electoral Commissioner David Kerslake said today.

Almost all of those votes have been issued at an early vote ‘pop up’ location in Cottesloe’s Eric Street Shopping Centre.

Mr Kerslake advised electors that early voting closes at 6.00 pm on Friday 16 March 2018.

Postal vote applications must be received by 6.00 pm on Wednesday 14 March 2018 and can be lodged through the Commission’s website www.elections.wa.gov.au.

Further information including other early voting locations and Election Day polling places, is also available on the website or by calling the election helpline on 136306.

Mr Kerslake reminded Cottesloe electors that voting in the by-election is compulsory.
