Legislative Assembly: Full distribution of preferences schedule

The full distribution of preferences for the Legislative Assembly is the formal count, undertaken by the Returning Officer, to determine the actual final result. The full distribution includes all ballot papers, that is, ballot papers from polling places, early voting, declarations and iVote. All ballot papers are counted and distributed until there are two candidates remaining.

The full distribution for all districts except four will take place at the WAEC Count Centre. The four districts that will not be counted at the WAEC Count Centre are Central Wheatbelt, Geraldton, Kimberley and Scarborough; these districts will be counted locally. Candidates in these four districts will be advised by the Returning Officer as to the time and location for the full distribution.

The anticipated schedule for the full distribution of preferences at the WAEC Count Centre for this weekend is available in the updated 17 March Bulletin.

Legislative Council: Count Update

Counting of early and declaration votes will continue through coming days until completed over the weekend, with daily shifts commencing from 8am.

Data-entry of BTL (below the line) ballot papers will resume tomorrow (Friday, 17 March 2017) from 8am. This will continue until 4.30pm if there are sufficient volumes of ballot papers to process. Data-entry will continue on Saturday, 18 March 2017 on the same basis.

Sorting of Legislative Council ballot papers will not occur on Friday or Saturday, as the focus will be on ensuring all Legislative Assembly ballot papers are ready for the full distribution counts.
